In what seemingly could be regarded as a passing moment of relief
from all my own designs and all my busy plans . . .
I soak up this ephemeral pool found deep in the woods.
Vernal pools, small ponds, a fragrant marsh, busy with life . . .

yet this place is subject to the constant change we all endure
Yet it reveals a reality I stray away from
My visit to the natural world
plants a fiery seed that emerges in my mind
when I most need it
